Quality Assurance of our products is foremost in the services we provide to our customers and is recognised throughout the food chain starting with our members on the farm, through to the kitchens of our customers. From pasture to plate we strive to ensure the highest standards are maintained throughout. On the Farm All our farmer members are EFSIS/FABBL registered which means that they are required to achieve standards covering:
Certification Efsis certify all our members and have been licenced to use ABM Beef and Lamb Standards and Inspection protocols. Efsis has also been awarded accreditation by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service to EN45011. Inspection Efsis has a 70 strong team of inspectors who have built a reputation for providing an efficient, professional service with relevant proven background knowledge and who are fully trained and supervised to ensure they carry out their inspection duties correctly. Standards ABM (Assured British Meats) sets standards in each of the following sectors:
and within each sector they maintain a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) staffed by qualified individuals with experience in that area; and expertise in food safety, animal welfare, environmental protection and law enforcement. As members of the Eblex Quality Assurance scheme we promote their values of assurance, traceability and food safety practices in order to ensure our customers are receiving products of the highest quality standards.
All Bowland Forest Foods products are processed and distributed through local fully licenced and regulated businesses in order to bring to the customer meats which are both high in quality, and assured of excellent taste.
Customer satisfaction is founded on the eating experience we are able to deliver to them, and we believe our job hasn't been fully completed until that experience is repeatedly enjoyed whenever our meats are eaten. In order to achieve this aim we work very closely with selected butchers and restaurants in order to provide meats which have been produced to their requirements based on the knowledge and experience they have of their customers. This partnership pools our expertise and provides us with invaluable feedback to our farmer members in their selection of breed animals and husbandry techniques. This acquired knowledge and expertise also allows us to assist in the development of recipes most suited to the specific characteristics of Bowland Forest bred meats many of which have been specially matured and selected for that purpose. Additionally we work closely with chefs, expert in cooking our meats, and we seek to impart their knowledge and expertise to our customers wherever possible so as to heighten for them the pleasure of the Bowland Forest Food experience in the home. |
